The Seneca Whirlwind is a Bethesda area based WAGS team. We are currently holding tryouts. We would like to identify and add several fast, aggressive, and well-rounded players, and a full-time goalkeeper. If you are interested in trying out, please contact Coach Jeff (contact info above) or our Manager, Kim Longsworth at klongsworth@comcast.net.
A few notes from Coach Jeff: I am a Bethesda boy, having grown up playing for MSI teams and helping Walt Whitman HS earn its first of many Maryland State titles (1979). I went on to play at Amherst College for a nationally-recognized and highly respected coach, Peter Gooding. I still play today and enjoy the same passion and dedication to the sport that I felt 30 years ago at Whitman.
I believe that there is more to coaching our kids than “Xs and Os” and the end-of-the-year tally, but make no mistake about my passion for success. We are building a team that we hope will be successful for many seasons to come.
In the fall 2010, we will practice 2-3 times/week, and utilize the benefits of a hired trainer for specialized skills development. All of our practices are in the Bethesda area. We play in 4-8 tournaments/year, indoor/futsal in the winter, encourage summer camps or create our own activities.
