SSA Sharks - U13 Division Champions!
The SSA Sharks, a current U13 WAGS (Rising U14 in Fall 2012) team, based in the Bethesda/Potomac area, are currently looking to add players including a goalkeeper for the Fall 2012 season. About the Team:
The SSA Sharks won their U13 Division in WAGS by going undefeated in the Fall of 2011! The Sharks ALSO won the WAGS Sportsmanship award for Fall 2011 season, which we are very proud of. The Sharks are 75-5-6 since the team began competitive play in the Fall of 2008! The Sharks have won EIGHT Division Titles and were the 2011 Good Counsel Futsal Champions! We are a dedicated group of girls that strive for excellence on and off the soccer field. Overall player development and team play are the focal points…..after fun of course. The girls are from a diverse group of schools in the Bethesda , Potomac, Chevy Chase and Gaithersburg areas. We play in two outdoor seasons, two indoor sessions, hold indoor practices and play in various tournaments. In addition, we utilize the expertise of the best trainers the area has to offer!
About the Coach:
Alex Kneessi holds a USSF “D” license (Advanced Regional Diploma) and has been coaching youth soccer for over eight years at various levels and age groups. He runs soccer clinics with other local trainers throughout the year. He is a member of the NSCAA and Positive Coaching Alliance certified. His teams have won multiple championships and sportsmanship awards. Alex is a Bethesda native and has played competitive soccer throughout his life….NSCL, School Teams, Adult Leagues, etc. Taking some of what he learned in soccer, Alex excelled as a field goal kicker and was named Maryland’s top field goal kicker during his high school years.
We normally practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Bethesda area and at Champions Field House.
