Coach Luis Calderon, with over 11 years of coaching experience teaches game fundamentals, decision making, problem solving, and individual skills in a demanding practice and game environment to his players. He is dedicated to the development and growth of premier soccer and futsal players in which he develops to build teams with highly technical and top level players that meet the highest standards. His teams are multi-cultural, with players of many races and languages.
Coach Calderon believes that a strong foundation of fundamental technical skills is critical for all elite players. He works with his players to produce quick minds and intelligent moves on the field. His philosophy and teaching style are based on hard work, dedication, and a deep love of the game of soccer. He demands a tremendous commitment from players as well their parents, but the result is always the same: unlimited success both on and off the field.
Coach Luis Calderon is a certified coach with License E with over 11 years experience with youth soccer teams and currently the Head Coach of Columbia United U10 travel team of Columbia Soccer Club. The team plays in OBSL & NCSL Soccer League since 2008. He is also the Head Coach of Seneca United U9 travel team of Seneca Soccer Club, which plays in NCSL Soccer League since Spring 2009. Calderon is the Head Coach of Seneca United U8 that plays OBSL Soccer League in Olney Area since Fall 2009. Trainer of Calverton Barza Strikers U10 travel team that plays NCSL Soccer League in 2009. Assistant Coach of Team Takoma U18 Division 1 in NCSL Soccer League in 2008/2009. Head Coach of of Seneca United ’91 Division 1 in NCSL Soccer League from 2000 to 2008.
Coach Luis Calderon’s nationality is Peru and born in 1961. His soccer experience start on youth soccer division of Professional team Universitario de Deportes in 1968 to 1972, then onto youth soccer division of Professional team Defensor Lima in 1972 to 1976. Played for Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Middle School and High School team from 1975 to 1979 and was state champion 3 times. Coach Calderon start Adult Soccer experience 1976 at the age of 15 on Moises Quirce on Amateur soccer League in Division 3 and play until 1984 and leaving the team once reaching and playing in Division 1. Then he continued in Second Division Professional team called Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe and Lau Chum soccer team in the years 1985 to 1990.
